Design as a form of listening

The best products feel less like software and more like a good conversation. So I listen first. To users, to the data, to the friction people have stopped noticing. Then I turn what I hear into interfaces that feel obvious the moment you use them.

Ten years in, I still sketch every idea by hand before it touches a screen. It keeps the work human. It's also why my design tends to feel warm, even when the problem underneath is stubbornly technical. Away from the desk, I'm usually drawing old buildings or tracking down a decent flat white.

E-Commerce Checkout Redesign

Checkout completion climbed 34% after I rebuilt the flow. A high-traffic retailer was losing people at every one of five steps. I ran usability sessions and dug through the funnel to find the exact drop-off points. Then I stripped the dead-weight fields, added clear progress cues, and dropped in express payment. I led the design end to end and paired with two engineers to ship it.

Fintech Mobile Banking

People won't lean on a banking app they don't trust. This one had to make everyday money feel calm, not tense. I designed the whole experience, from spending insights to quick transfers, and kept the visual language reassuring even when a balance is running low. Big type, generous spacing, readable on a phone in bright sun.

Artisan Coffee Rebrand

An independent roaster wanted to feel handmade, not mass-produced. So I built the full identity: logo, packaging, storefront signage, and a warm little corner of the web. Hand-drawn marks and rough, uncoated stock make every touchpoint feel like a person made it. Because one did.

Editorial Illustration Series

A long-form editorial piece needed art with a pulse. I painted a set of watercolors by hand and art-directed them from the first rough sketches to the final compositions. Real paint keeps the texture honest. None of it looks generated, because none of it is.

SaaS Analytics Dashboard

A dashboard full of data is useless if nobody can read it. This one crammed too much onto the screen at once. I rebuilt the hierarchy so the numbers that matter surface first, then made a flexible component library so the team could add new views without the layout coming apart.

Travel Booking Platform

Booking a trip should feel exciting, not like filing paperwork. I designed the platform end to end, from that first spark of an idea through search, checkout, and managing the trip once it's booked. Big imagery leads, so planning already feels like part of the holiday.
