That was a dog? She sneezed me clean across the room. Twice — I counted. I used to think ‘Dust in the Wind’ was a lovely song. Now it’s just my medical history.

Not sure… she sniffed my ankles. I’m almost entirely ankles, so… we were here a while.
And suddenly the lights...
There is a little bed in the fireplace. A blanket, a cushion, a water dish. Somebody sleeps in here, right on the coals.
Dust everywhere along the shelf, except one small clean patch. Something sits here.
Scorch marks burnt into the carpet. One the size of a saucer, two smaller. Singed at the edges, not worn.
The green pouf. Recently... christened. Still warm. Somebody small was here, and not long ago.
